The pub has witnessed many changes over the centuries - from the periodic revivals in the fortunes of the mining industry, the change from sail to steam and eventually the building of the majestic viaduct that heralded the coming of the railway in 1908.
The industry is long gone, but the railway survives and the Tamar Valley is now designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Conveniently situated at the heart of the beautiful Tamar River Valley on the Devon/Cornwall border, the Tamar Inn is a traditional Cornish riverside pub offering a wide selection of award winning real ales, an extensive wine list and good home cooked food.
